Mere Court Hotel wedding | Laura + Dan
Here is a selection of my photographs from Laura and Dan's recent wedding at the Mere Court Hotel in the heart of Cheshire. One of the plus points about the Mere Court hotel is there is plenty of space to work in if it rains. Which it did. A lot. But this is just one of those things - as a documentary wedding photographer you have to be able to adapt at a moments notice - so we improvised some shots around the hotel which we would normally have done outside in and around the gardens. The day started off ok - a bit overcast but pretty good for photographs - no harsh sunshine. Result. We all met at Lauras dads house nearby in Wilmslow as the wedding was taking place close by at Dean Row Chapel - those of you who know the area will know this chapel as being very accommodating to photographers and a lot less stuffy than most churches. Just as we finished the shots in the house - down came the rain - cue the brollies !!Once we arrived at Dean Row Chapel everyone scurried inside - apart from the bridesmaids left waiting patiently for Laura to arrive - fashionably late ! Plenty of scope for some nice images here too - steps to shoot down from as the bride walks to the entrance and a balcony to get a good overview. The vestry is a bit cramped - although that didnt stop a guest at a previous wedding follow me in and start shooting images of the register signing. That was a first. We had words !!So - off we trot to the Mere Court Hotel - and everything - including some bride portraits - had to be done indoors - but if you get married in the middle of august you have to expect a few drops of rain. It was an absolute pleasure to document Laura and Dans day at the Mere Court Hotel - here are some of my favourite photographs.
